Frequently Asked Questions - Farm & Craft Markets & Special Events
What can I sell?
Farm & Craft Market criteria - We are looking for genuine, good quality, hand-made products made by you or a member of your own close family. No imported or purchased goods for re-sale, unless for special reasons at the discretion of the market coordinator. You may only sell products that you have applied to sell, which have been approved by the management. HHS only allows a maximum of three types of any craft or produce to trade at a market and we currently have a waiting list for some types of craft/produce. Food traders must comply with our strict food criteria.
Special event criteria - the criteria for these events varies from the F&C market and some purchased for retail or imported goods may be allowed as long as it is in keeping with the event.
Do I need Public Liability Insurance?
Yes, Stall holders are expected to have public liability insurance with a minimum indemnity of £5 million, covering themselves for public liability damage, fire and theft and must assume full responsibility of all their stands, goods and the safety of any electrical equipment. A copy of this certificate will need to be attached to your registration form. We have details of reasonably priced annual policies if required. All electrical equipment used should hold a portable appliance electrical certificate..
Where is it?
In the covered events room, alongside our cafe and farm shop. This space can get quite warm. We recommend you bring your own shading (patio umbrella) if a hot day is forecast. Any concerns, please visit Hare Hatch Sheeplands where they can show you the venue. Venue may occasionally move subject to the business need or suitable space becoming available, but is usually under cover. A table will be provided.
I’m selling food, what paperwork do I need?
At least one stallholder on a food stall selling prepared food including raw meat or fish must hold a basic Food Hygiene Certificate. A copy of this certificate MUST be submitted with the application to attend. More information will be provided on application.
Table rates
The table rate varies at each event - and how many events you attend - and is currently £20 - £25 per table.
