Camelias and Prunus
This week the Camelias ae in ful bud and some already in flower. They'll soon be a mass of colour and great value @ £9.99 (1 litre pot) and £23.99 (5 litre pot).
Japanese Camelias are large evergreen shrubs which shine in winter, with their glossy, deep green leaves and brilliant symmetry. Red, pink and white flowers appear in early spring, and they range from solids to stripes and from single cups of petals to tight double blooms. Plant in moist, rich, well-drained acidic soil in shade or partial shade.
Prunus incisia (common names: Japanese flowering cherry, Fuji cherry) are just about to burst into flower. 3 litre pots are £9.99.
Prunus Kojo-no-maj is a gorgeous hardy, deciduous, compact, slow growing shrub or small tree which will burst into flower before the leaves appear in the late winter or early spring. Flowers start as red buds which appear to almost dance around the branches, but then open to reveal beautiful pale-pink colour with a red centre. Perfect for small gardens or to grow in a pot.
